HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Rockets rallied for a 118-113 overtime win against the Portland Trail Blazers last night. The Trail Blazers led by 3 in overtime after two free throws by Wesley Matthews. Houston used an 8-2 run with a 3 from James Harden and four points from Jeremy Lin to make it 116-113 with 35.4 seconds left. Lin added two free throws after that to help the Rockets secure their fifth straight win.
DALLAS (AP) - Monta (MAHN'-tay) Ellis and Devin Harris scored 20 points apiece as the Dallas Mavericks extended Indiana's season-long losing streak to four games with a 105-94 victory against the Pacers last. The Pacers rallied from 17 points down in the first half and almost wiped out another double-digit deficit after halftime. But they had the same offensive troubles late that plagued them early in the game.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Nina Davis scored 18 points to help No. 9 Baylor defeat No. 18 Oklahoma State 65-61 in the Big 12 women's semifinals yesterday. Davis made 8 of 13 shots and had 12 rebounds. The Lady Bears advanced to Monday's final and can win their fourth consecutive conference title.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Bria Holmes scored 23 points to help No. 7 West Virginia beat Texas 67-60 yesterday in the women's Big 12 tournament semifinals. Christal Caldwell added 15 points for the Mountaineers. West Virginia outscored Texas 28-14 from the free-throw line to win its 12th straight.
