Ethics Complaint Filed Against Samson

Posted: Updated:
While Governor Christie is not making headlines today, his friend David Samson is.

Samson is the Chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and was the direct supervisor of Bill Baroni. He is also a partner at the law firm Wolff & Samson.

The New Jersey Working Families Alliance has filed an ethics complaint against Samson with the New Jersey Ethics Commission.

The ethical concerns involve deals made between the Port Authority and clients of Samson’s law firm, Wolff & Samson.

These contracts involve a $1 lease for NJ Transit and the takeover of the struggling Atlantic City Airport, both clients of Samson’s private law firm.

In addition, Samson also voted for the $256 million reconstruction of the Harrison PATH station. That comes just months after a builder represented by his law firm proposed converting a nearby warehouse into luxury apartments.

David Samson was contacted for a comment, but he is currently out of the state and did not respond to outreach.

Executive Director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance Analilia Mejia chimed in to discuss the complaint further.

“When you have a public official like David Sampson making decisions based on, or what it seems like decisions that influence clients of his private law firm, using public dollars to benefit, or in a way that benefits these clients, then it puts the entire New Jersey public trust at risk,” she explained.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
