DALLAS - Dallas County is getting ready for a large number of people to walk in at the health department Wednesday for the swine flu shot.
The county has 10,000 doses of the vaccine to give out to high-risk uninsured Dallas County residents.
“We are going to be walking the lines to make sure that everybody understands we are focused on the priority,” said Health Director Zachary Thompson.
High-risk priority patients include pregnant women, people with underlying medical conditions and children between 6 months and 24 years old, Thompson said.
Doors open at 8 a.m. and will close at 4 p.m. The clinic will open again on Thursday and Friday if doses are still available.
“We are asking residents not to camp out in front our field. We don't think that is necessary. Our throughput that we are looking at is around 500 patients per hour,” Thompson said.
Residents should bring a form of ID to show proof of residency.
