MANSFIELD, Texas - The Mansfield Police Department is looking for a couple of thieves who may have blended in with others at church on Sunday while looking for things to steal.
First United Methodist Church in Mansfield was among the four stops police believe the thieves made. A surveillance camera there snapped pictures of two suspicious females.
"One of our staff members had left her purse in her office unlocked and her wallet was stolen out of her purse,” said Amy Vanpool of FUMC Mansfield.
Investigators said some of the credit cards stolen at FUMC Mansfield have been used in the area.
They point out the same thieves may be connected to similar crimes in other cities.
"People need to be aware this is going on that people are out there doing this. Whether it’s these two or a group, we're not sure yet. But we would certainly like to speak to the two in these photos," said Officer Thad Penkala.
Vanpool said FUMC Mansfiled would like the thief to know they're willing to forgive; and that they don't have to resort to stealing.
"We have ways of helping people who are in need,” she said.
