Dad Got 5-Year-Old Drunk at Party, Police Say

ALEXANDRIA, La. - Police arrested a man after his 5-year-old daughter came home drunk over the weekend.

According to a police report, the girl's mother let her daughter spend Sunday afternoon with her dad.

The child came home in the evening "acting kind of funny" and was unable to keep her balance, according to the Alexandria Town Talk.

The girl said she'd been to a party with her father, and appeared intoxicated. The mom had her lie down on a couch, and the child threw up. Mom called 911, the paper reported.

When police and paramedics arrived, they saw the girl's eyes had rolled to the back of her head and she was limp.

The child was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

Police arrested the 49-year-old father for cruelty to a juvenile, and an unrelated forgery charge.
