PORT ARTHUR, Texas - A man and two women who have his name tattooed on their necks have been indicted on organized crime charges after allegedly running a prostitution ring in the Port Arthur area.
A Jefferson County grand jury indicted the trio on charges after an undercover sex offense investigation. The arrests were announced Thursday.
The suspects include Edwin Johnson a.k.a. "Head," Casandra Lettau a.k.a "Snow" and Jessica Gooden a.k.a "Honey."
Investigators tracked the ring in part by using coupons, allegedly advertising the operation, showing scantily clad women.
Groves City Marshal Jeff Wilmore says it was a "very flamboyant, in your face lifestyle."
According to a KDFW report, that flamboyance included jewel-encrusted mouth jewelry emblazoned with the word "pimp," and houses painted in distinctive blue and white patterns.
Engaging in organized criminal activity is a felony and can bring a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
