FORT WORTH, Texas - One man's online campaign to fix up an elderly woman's run down home is starting to pay off -- and Antonia Hernandez couldn't be more grateful.
The 89-year-old woman has been living in the same Fort Worth home for more than 60 years, but building has fallen into serious disrepair.
When family friend Hector Macias realized Hernandez had been living without water because of plumbing leaks, he vowed to do whatever he could to help.
So Macias started a Facebook page to get donations, services, and other assistance for Hernandez.
"I can't just turn my back," Macias wrote in an email to FOX 4. "This woman could be your mother, your grandmother, you."
Crews arrived early Friday morning to begin working on plumbing and structural problems at the tiny shotgun home on near Meacham Airport.
Macias hopes to have more work done over the weekend and by Monday.
