MCKINNEY, Texas - Another North Texan snapped an alarming photo of a wild cat on the prowl in a suburban neighborhood.
This time, the creeping kitty was slinking along a brick wall near a busy highway in McKinney.
Anthony Silverio posted the photos of the spotted cat to his Facebook page, and says his friends were just as amazed as he was.
"I was feeding my daughter when I saw something out of the corner of my eye," Silverio told myfoxdfw.com of his experience last Friday morning.
He doesn't have a dog or a cat, and his back yard is fenced in. So he was stunned to see a cat as large as a medium-sized dog staring through his patio glass door around breakfast time.
"My son was eager to go out and get a closer look," Silverio said. "That was not a good idea, I thought."
The cat, while seemingly unaggressive, still made the four-year McKinney resident nervous.
After exploring his yard, the cat hopped up on a brick wall and headed next door.
Silverio says at his house on Worchester Lane, close to Highway 121 and Hardin Boulevard, the wildest creature he's ever seen is a bunny rabbit.
He called McKinney's animal control department to report the strange cat. From his description, the person who answered the phone said the cat sounded like a bobcat, and that many bobcats lived in the area.
Silverio also said the animal control officer told him to "shoo it away."
While he acknowledges the cat was not acting aggressively, he still is worried about his young children.
"It made me think twice about letting my daughter out there," Silverio said. "I wouldn't take my chances."
