DALLAS - An agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is hospitalized after a drug suspect shot him during a raid at a far east Dallas home on Thursday.
The incident happened at about 6 a.m. at 938 Hannah Way.
According to officials, agents tried to serve an arrest warrant to Gary Lynn Montgomery for crack cocaine and other charges. They said the 38-year-old suspect fired 5 times during the raid, striking the agent twice.
The unidentified ATF agent was transported to Parkland Hospital in an unknown condition.
Montgomery, who has long list of criminal charges in Dallas County dating back to early 90s, was apprehended after a standoff.
A woman in the house surrendered voluntarily and was being interviewed by investigators.
Montgomery's charges are not yet known.
