Fugitive Child Molester Billy Gibson Caught in Florida

DALLAS - A convicted sex offender who fled from a Dallas halfway house and cut off the electronic monitoring device he was required to wear has been caught in south Florida.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says 33-year-old Billy Twayne Gibson was captured Friday morning at a hotel in Miami Springs. DPS says a tip led to Gibson. A car reported stolen in Navarro County has been located.

DPS on Thursday announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Gibson , who fled Aug. 28 from the Wayback House.

A warrant was issued on a charge of failure to comply with civil commitment requirements, a third-degree felony. Gibson's criminal history includes sexual assault of a child and aggravated robbery.

Gibson was on the DPS list of Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives.

He has previously gone by the aliases Billy Bruton, Billy Gibson, Tuloo Gibson, Joseph Mohan and Tulu.
