DALLAS - The search continued on Monday for more human remains in Lake Ray Hubbard, east of Dallas.
Dallas police divers were combing the water after an unknown number of body parts were recovered there since last week.
The investigation began on Thursday when someone found a piece of an arm , and possibly more parts, in dirt along the shoreline.
Then, on Sunday, officers patrolling the lake found what they believe to be more remains found floating in a trash bag , near the first discovery.
Crime scene investigators have also recovered clothing and a slide for a semi-automatic.
Detectives are trying to determine if how the items are related and if a crime was committed.
Police also searched the lake on Friday but did not report any findings.
It is not clear who the victim is or how long the pieces have been in the lake.
The investigation put a bit of a damper on Labor Day holiday celebrations for some at the lake. As lake goers barbecued and played on land, word of body parts in the water made some second guess their aquatic plans.
"I was going to swim with my kids and we got here, and they tell us they find a body, parts of a body, so we're trying to think if we need to go swimming or not," Omar Rodriguez said.
