DALLAS - A bank robber shot and killed an armored car guard who was refilling a cash machine at a west Oak Cliff bank Friday morning.
Cresencio Borquez died during the robbery at about 9:40 at the Chase Bank in the 2500 block of Fort Worth Avenue at Bahama Drive.
Borquez and another Brinks guard were working out of their armored truck when the gunman approached and opened fire, police said.
Dallas police Lt. Craig Miller said neither guard likely was able to return fire.
A witness told FOX 4 news that he heard six gunshots and saw two men fleeing the area in a white vehicle.
Police are looking for a white sedan, possibly a Honda Prelude, with an upside-down license plate.
The shooter is described as being Hispanic, 25 to 35 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 200 pounds, with a scruffy beard.
According to investigators, the perpetrators could be the same men who robbed a Duncanville Wachovia bank on Aug. 1.
No one was injured in that incident.
