Asst. Mesquite Football Coach Allegedly Had Improper Relationship with Student

MESQUITE, Texas - Andrew Lott, a teacher and assistant football coach at Mesquite High School, is accused of having an improper relationship with a student.

Mesquite police on Thursday afternoon arrested Lott for an alleged relatrionship with a 17-year-old female senior.

According to Lt. Bill Hedgpeth, 33-year-old Lott is charged with one count of improper relationship between educator and student, a second degree felony.

Hedgpeth said Lott began the relationship at the beginning of the school year.

There are no other known victims, he said.

An investigation is ongoing.

Lott had previously earned attention for coaching the Dallas Academy girls' basketball team when it lost to Covenant Academy, 100-0.
