Pet Killed in Townhouse Fire

GARLAND - An overnight fire destroyed at least two townhomes and left heavy damage on at least two more. No residents were hurt, but someone's pet perished in the blaze.

The fire broke out at the duplex-style townhomes in the 700 block of Valiant Circle in Garland.

Fire crews arrived about 2:45 a.m. to find one two-unit building fully engulfed in flames. A second building nearby was also on fire, and falling embers from the fire were endangering a third building.

All the residents managed to make it out safely.

Investigators are checking out the scene to find out what sparked the flames.
