Four people were hurt on Tuesday afternoon when a small passenger plane crashed in North Texas.

The twin-engine aircraft went down in Wise County, just outside of Aurora.

The plane was headed to Meacham Field in Fort Worth from Oklahoma City, officials said.

They said the pilot reported engine problems to the tower before it went down.

DPS reports two of the plane's passengers were transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital. Their conditions were initially listed as serious.

The two remaining passengers were reportedly taken by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. Their injuries were not life threatening.

Records indicate the plane was owned by Robert Schumacher, a Fort Worth oil man.

Schumacher and two other Schumacher Oil officials are believed to be among the men on board the plane.
