ARLINGTON, Texas -
A North Texas community theater staff member has resigned after pornographic images accidentally showed up in a computer presentation in front of a public audience.
The incident happened Sunday night at Theater Arlington during the Stony Awards ceremony. The theater, which has been in business for 36 years, issued a statement saying what a happened was "unintentional and clearly unacceptable."
Arlington police began investigating after a viewer tipped off FOX 4 about the incident. Police say people who attended the awards ceremony that night saw adult pornography briefly on a screen as a presentation was being played from a computer.
"They described it as adult pornography," said Lt. Blake Miller of the Arlington Police Department. "It's unfortunate that it was shown because there were families there and children there at this presentation, but right now we don't see any intent to show this type of material at the location."
Police questioned the man who used the computer and ended up resigning from the theater. That person was not arrested, and police do not intend to file criminal charges against him. That person told police he did not know how the images got on that computer.
