Three people have been arrested and charged with capital murder in the robbery and murder of a taxi driver whose burned body was found Thursday night in a Denton County field. Noah Whitehead, William Stephens and Mariesha Ohlfs are all being held on $250,000 bond.

On Thursday night, officials say firefighters responding to another call discovered a partially burned body lying in a field at the southeast corner of Hwy 114 and John Day Road. A Freedom taxi cab van was found about a mile away. Investigators discovered a large amount of blood in the front and rear seats.

Investigators learned that two similar robberies of taxi drivers had occurred recently in the area. Both cabs had also been abandoned on John Day Road.

Officials say they were able to identify one suspect, William Stephens, after his image was captured by a surveillance camera at a nearby convenience store. Stephens was also caught on camera using a credit card taken from one of the previous robberies.

A Crimestoppers tip led officers to a house in Haltom City. Officials say that's where they found Stephens and he confessed to the crime. Officers later found Whitehead and Ohlfs and arrested them. Investigators say they found personal property from the taxi driver at that residence.
