Police say a man ran down his wife in the parking lot of a busy North Texas Wal-Mart and then turned a gun on himself.
Officers responded to the scene at the store on the corner of Precinct Line and Harwood Roads in Hurst just before noon on Thursday.
Witnesses said 53-year-old Curtis Bentley ran over his wife, 50-year-old Wal-Mart employee Sandy Bentley, with his car in the parking lot.
Police said by the time they arrived, Curtis Bentley had shot himself.
Sandy Bentley was taken to a hospital where she later died.
Crime scene tape laced the parking lot as police officers waited for investigators to arrive. The car at the scene had a tarp covering the driver's side window and windshield.
Some of the Bentley's neighbors said they knew the couple had problems, but no one expected them to end with the lose of both of their lives.
The couple leaves behind four children.
