A creative senior prank greeted teachers Friday morning at Woodrow Wilson Senior High School in Dallas.
Hundreds of cardboard boxes were scattered across the parking lot, preventing access and providing a good laugh. The gates to the parking lots were also padlocked.
According to the school's calendar, the Senior Dinner took place Thursday night. It appears some enterprising senior members stayed up late to distribute the boxes across the entire parking lot.
But the school may have had the last laugh: all of the seniors were dispatched to the parking lot after roll call and told to start breaking down the boxes, pronto.
Renee Marion, mother of a Woodrow Wilson student, says the seniors probably have a pretty good dose of Spring Fever. She remembered when she was a senior at First Baptist Academy, but didn't say exactly when.
"We put all the chairs in the elevators so nobody could get up," Marion recalled. "We were on the eleventh floor."
Spring Fever will have to percolate for a few more weeks at Woodrow Wilson: graduation exercises are set for May 31. The last day of school isn't until June 3, when the last final exam is over.
