FORT WORTH, Texas - The family of a 10-year-old boy who was seriously injured when a bank of lockers came crashing down on him has been dealt a double blow. Someone broke into their house while they were at the hospital Thursday night.

The locker accident happened at Bridgeport Intermediate School in Wise County, about an hour northwest of Fort Worth.

School officials said Keaton Robinson was trying to get his book bag out of the locker when it fell.

He was flown to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. He suffered a broken arm, busted lip and possible facial fractures.

His father Tim Robinson the family is emotionally exhausted.

“After what happened with my son at the school and everything, we were up at the hospital with him, sitting and waiting for him to go through surgery and everything,” he said.

Then the family returned to their Azle home around 11:30 p.m. to discover a break-in.

“You can see the outline of the footprint right here on the door. It’s still there,” Robinson said. “If you look right here on the frame you can tell where the frame was busted from the deadbolt.”

The thieves did not take everything. The family’s Christmas presents are still under the tree and the Playstation and Wii are still there. But a large TV, surround sound system, MP3 players, laptop and a computer tower are missing.

The Robinsons have set up security cameras now in case the thieves return. But because of the selective stealing, they believe someone they know took advantage of them.

“Somebody got wind of it, saw and heard what happened. They knew that we weren’t gonna be home at that time and that’s when they took advantage,” Robinson said.

It’s taken the wind out of what is supposed to be the happiest time of the year.
