Hometown Hero: Bunny Love

DALLAS - Clarice Tinsley’s Hometown Hero this week is Anne Davidson, a financial adviser who dresses up for the homeless kids at Vogel Alcove.

About once a month Davidson puts on a sparkly pink gown and becomes a guardian angel with wings. Her character, Bunny Love, was named in part as a tribute to her late mother Bernice, whose nickname was Bunny.

Vogel Alcove has been opening its doors to Bunny Love since 2003. Five days a week the organization is also open to children 6 weeks to 6 years old whose parents are homeless.

The staff and volunteers help the little ones develop positive self esteem and other skills necessary for them to be successful in school.

Davidson said Bunny Love talks, sings and entertains the kids. They laugh with her and use their imaginations; something Executive Director Barbara Landix said kids don't often do today.

Bunny Love reminds the kids that they have everything inside of them to succeed; all they have to do is believe it and bring it out.
