BURLESON, Texas - The WasteBusters tips are rolling in. Jason Jordan of Burleson sent in some photos and asked: how many City of Burleson employees does it take to paint a fire hydrant?
Well, going by the photos Jordan captured, the answer is four…one to supervise and three to paint a particular fire hydrant in front of Hughes Middles School last year.
We asked the City of Burleson if it really needed four guys to paint one fire hydrant and if this is a good use of city resources. It’s response:
“We appreciate citizens and Fox 4 bringing this photo to our attention. Obviously, it does not require 4 employees to paint a fire hydrant. The photo does not capture the level of productivity that is the standard which the majority of our employees meet or exceed on a daily basis. Neither does it capture the level of service we strive to provide to the citizens of Burleson. Since the photo was taken in March 2010, one of the men is no longer employed with the City. However, management will address this with the remaining employees involved and use this photograph in future training for all employees as an example of unacceptable job performance.”
