H1N1 Vaccine for All Tarrant Residents Today

Published : Tuesday, 01 Dec 2009, 1:26 PM CST

Anyone who wants a free swine flu shot in Tarrant County can get one beginning today.

That’s a big change.

Since October only target groups such as pregnant women, children and other high risk groups could get the H1N1 shots based on the supply of vaccine and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Tarrant County Public Health officials say they are offering the vaccine to everyone because the demand from target groups has decreased and the H1N1 vaccine is now widely available in both the public and private sectors.

People can get the swine flu vaccine is available at 12 Tarrant County Public Health locations.

The locations include county health centers and store front locations.

The health centers are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The store fronts will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
