DALLAS - A North Texas man had his iPad stolen at DFW Airport. And while that has happened before, what’s new is the proof he has that someone else has his device.

Ken McLellan is an Apple fan. He owns a Mac computer, an original iPad, one of the newest iPhones and he used to own an iPad 2. That was until someone stole it at the airport as he returned from a business trip.

“Went to go pick up my baggage claim and set my carry on stuff along with my device down on the side while I went to go pick up my other luggage,” he said. “It became clear that it was gone… or so I thought.”

No one knows where McLellan’s tablet has traveled since it was taken in late December, but this past weekend pictures of people popped up on his Mac.

“I was like I don’t know those people. Who is that? And I clicked on that and I saw iPad 2. That’s my iPad that’s missing,” he said. “I said holy cow. These are pictures that the people who took, who have stolen my device. This is them.”

New technology automatically sent the pictures taken with the stolen tablet to McLellan’s computer at his home.

“The iCloud allows your iPad or iPhone or iPod to become more of an extension of your computer through the internet,” said Bobby Gantt at MicroCenter.

McLellan posted the pictures on his Facebook page and they have gone viral. People are reposting them in hopes that social media will help him get his iPad back.
