KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas - Two bodies found in a flooded drainage culvert were identified as a woman and her 10-year-old daughter, and investigators have a suspect in custody, the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office said.
A passerby found the partially submerged bodies Tuesday morning in the Post Oak Bend area along CR 280, about eight miles north of Kaufman.
The victims are 30-year-old Fionna Olander and her daughter Korry Threadgill, both of Addison, the sheriff's ofice said.
Their causes of death are still pending the results of autopsy and toxicology tests.
However, deputies have arrested 37-year-old Martin McKee of Farmers Branch.
He was charged with two counts of capital murder, and was recently transferred to Kaufman County from the Farmers Branch jail.
Family members said McKee, known to them as Martin Brookshier, had been dating the victim.
