DALLAS - A driver died early Thursday morning when he crashed his SUV into the entrance of a municipal golf course.
The violent single-car accident happened about 5 a.m. in front of the Cedar Crest Park Golf Course, at the corner of Southerland Ave. and Cedar Crest Blvd.
Accident investigators believe the SUV was speeding south on Cedar Crest when he ran the stop sign, jumped the curb, and smashed through the fence.
The driver hit the fence and a tree with such force that the SUV's engine was ripped completely out of the vehicle.
Police have not yet released the victim's name, but believe he is about 30 years old.
