DALLAS - The March of Dimes' annual “Breakfast With A Champion” Wednesday morning featured former Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks and NFL Hall of Fame stars Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman.
The organization is dedicated to keeping babies healthy by helping prevent birth defects, premature births and infant mortality.
This year's ambassador family, Chuck and Kelly Crider, shared their story this morning about how the March of Dimes has made it possible for their twins, who were born premature, to lead normal and healthy lives.
The fundraiser, “Breakfast With A Champion” at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, is the 15th year for the event which has raised about $2 million dollars for the March of Dimes.
Staubach and Aikman used a conversational format to deliver an inspirational message with personal stories about their careers in football, business and broadcasting.
Both stuck around afterwards to take pictures with people who attended the breakfast which is sponsored by Tom Thumb and Dr Pepper.
Fox 4 is one of the sponsors of the March of Dimes and joined other supporters at the breakfast.
The next big fundraiser is the "March For Babies" next year on April 17 at White Rock Lake in Dallas.
The march attracts about 35,000 people.
This year, "March For Babies" raised $2.5 million for the March of Dimes.
