Wanted Suspect Fled, Crashed

PLANO, Texas - Allen police chased a probation violation suspect into another city until he crashed the car he was driving into a house.

Officers had been on the lookout for 27-year-old David Montelongo when they spotted him on the Central Expressway shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday.

When they checked the plates on the car he was driving, they came back as stolen, so they tried to pull him over.

Montelongo fled, with police in pursuit. He led them south into Plano, until he struck a parked pickup truck and finally abandoned the truck in the front yard of a house in the 800 block of Warwick Drive.

Montelongo took off running, but with the help of a couple of police dogs, officers from both Plano and Allen police departments managed to track him down.

They also recovered several bags of evidence from the car.

Montelongo is facing several more charges as well as the original probation violation charges.
