DALLAS - The heavy snow caused more than just problems on the roads. A less serious but annoying problem involved snow-covered satellite dishes.
Gas stations that use satellites to connect their credit card readers to the place that approves the transaction had problems throughout the day. Buried dishes would not transmit and receive a signal.
As if the roads weren’t enough of a hassle on the evening commute, many drivers stopping for gas were forced to make a messy mad scramble inside instead of paying at the pump.
“I hate going inside, especially on a day like this,” said Janet Manly.
Of course, many people with satellite TV were also left out in the cold.
“I was trying to watch Wendy Williams this morning and this is what I get,” said Stephanie Gabriel.
Gabriel said she's not buying the fix she found for the problem online.
“Get up on the roof and dust the snow off; there’s no way I’m doing that. And I’m not asking my husband to either,” she said.
