Falling Mystery Metal Hits House

A chunk of unidentified metal fell from the sky on Tuesday and hit a Dallas home, police said.

The incident happened at about 5:20 p.m. in the 7800 block of Buford Drive, according to Dallas police.

The debris crashed through the roof of the house and passed through the second floor, police said.

According to investigators, the metal chunk weighs 6 pounds and has two drill holes.

No one was home at the time and no one was injured, they said.

Officials could not immediately identify the metal or its source. They said they have received no other reports of falling debris.
