Willis Willis Wants to Force Texas Lottery Officials to Talk to Him

Published : Monday, 30 Nov 2009, 10:49 AM CST

Attorneys for Willis Willis are waiting to sue the Texas Lottery Commission but hope they won’t have to if it gives Willis his million dollars.

Willis says his winning ticket was stolen by a clerk at the Lucky Food Store in Grand Prairie where he bought it.

Willis’ lawyers filed papers in court last week asking the Texas Lottery Commission to answer questions about Willis’ case, but they're still waiting.

If Lottery officials refuse, Willis’ lawyers are asking a judge to force them to talk.

The commission has told Willis that the store clerk, Pankaj Joshi, is the prize winner because he cashed in the ticket.

About $350,000 has been recovered by Travis County prosecutors from Joshi’s bank accounts.

The clerk is believed to have gone back to his native Nepal.
