ARLINGTON, Texas - A long stretch of I-30 is already known as Tom Landry Highway. But that name is about to change if a North Texas transportation executive has his way.

Michael Morris of the North Central Texas Council of Governments announced the idea Tuesday night at a public meeting, according to the Star-Telegram.

If approved by the NFL, six signs reading "Tom Landry Super Bowl Highway" featuring Landry's iconic fedora will be put up.

Two of the signs will each be put in these cities: Dallas, Grand Prairie and Arlington.

The signs would continue to honor the late Cowboys coach and celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl scheduled for next January in the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Overall, reaction to the idea has been positive.

Ben Ledzdins, "As far as we're concerned, it's fantastic," said Ben Lezdins of Hotels.com. "It brings a lot more tourism to the area and all the businesses will be really happy with it too."
