DESOTO, Texas - Lingering showers after a stormy night across North Texas led to a day of cleanup for some people.

Strong winds knocked over large trees in one DeSoto neighborhood near the Cedar Hill border. A couple of fences were also blown over.

No one was hurt, but homeowners said they now have their work cut out for them.

“We were in the bed and it was raining real hard and the kids got upset. We heard kinda like a whistle so we all went downstairs and got in the center part of the house where there were no windows or anything stayed there until the lightning and rain stopped a little bit,” said Sheila Golden.

“I got up this morning, my sister got up to leave to go to work and she's like there's a tree in the driveway and we came out and there really is a tree in the driveway.”

FOX 4 Meteorologist Evan Andrews said there could be more rough weather in the forecast.

A flash flood watch remained in effect on Monday as more rain moved into North Texas. Round two of the rain will not move out of the area until the evening or overnight hours, he said.

Because of the wet weather, high temperatures will only reach about 55 degrees.

The area will dry out on Tuesday, with a high of 65, Andrews said.
