ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Sonny Gray won his sixth straight decision, helped when the Oakland Athletics hit four home runs in a six-batter span to beat the Texas Rangers 5-1 Saturday night. Nick Tepesch (3-7), who threw 99 pitches in a start last Sunday and then made a relief appearance two days later in a 14-inning loss, exited because of soreness in his left knee. Tepesch had this start pushed back a day.

HOUSTON (AP) - Giancarlo Stanton hit a three-run double, and Jordany Valdespin added a two-run home run to power the Miami Marlins to a 7-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. Jason Castro had two hits, including a two-run home run in the first inning. Jose Altuve added three hits for Houston, which lost its fourth straight and fell a season-high 20 games below .500 (42-62). Astros starter Jarred Cosart (9-7) allowed five runs and seven hits with four strikeouts and four walks in 5 2-3 innings.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Lynetta Kizer scored 16 points and the Indiana Fever dominated the fourth quarter in rallying for a 75-68 victory over the San Antonio Stars on Saturday night. Becky Hammon scored 18 points and Danielle Robinson added 15 for San Antonio (12-14), which suffered back-to-back losses after losing at Minnesota on Friday night.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) - William Zalatoris won the U.S. Junior Amateur on Saturday, beating Davis Riley 5 and 3 in the 36-hole final at The Club at Carlton Woods. The 17-year-old Zalatoris, from Plano, holed out from 119 yards for eagle on the 32nd hole - the par-4 14th on the Nicklaus Course - to take a 4-up lead and ended the match with a par win on the 33rd hole. Zalatoris, a rising Wake Forest freshman, was making his record-tying fifth appearance in the event.
