Aloha! Though I'm a born and bred Hawaii girl, everyone laughs when I tell them I am an avid hockey fan (It's a good thing the lockout is over, or I would have moved to Canada). I watch and play hockey, something I picked up in 1999. Dallas is the first city I have ever lived in with all four major professional sports, so you can understand my disappointment when I moved here and the Stars season was canceled.

Not just hockey, but all sports are my passion. My dogs are named Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Chipper Jones. The big sports in Hawaii are surfing and sumo. Yes, we really love watching sumo.

I graduated from the University of Hawaii (we are the Warriors, NOT the Rainbows). Shortly after that, I became a sports reporter at a television station there, covering the Pro Bowl (we actually do watch the game in Hawaii), surfing competitions, and the Warriors football team.

While my entire family is still in the Aloha State, I moved to the mainland to continue my broadcast career.

First in Boise, Idaho in 1997, four years later in Kansas City, Missouri (yes, I am a huge Chiefs fan!), before settling in Dallas.

In each city, I reported for the news department, not sports. I enjoy hitting the streets, but most important, I like being a reporter because I get to meet new people and see what issues are affecting their lives.
