I completed my studies in broadcast communications at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, and went on from there to earn an internship with Dick Purtan and Purtan's People at WKQI in Southfield. That led to many new and exciting opportunities for me, including working here at WJBK FOX 2. I worked as a traffic reporter and reporter from 1994 to 1999, while at the same time I was a traffic reporter and weekend news anchor at WWJ Newsradio 950.
I left FOX 2 in 1999 and subsequently took a job anchoring for an affiliate of National Public Radio. I became the afternoon host of "All Things Considered." It was an incredible opportunity for me to hone my skills as an anchor, and to meet and interview some extremely dynamic individuals. One of my most memorable experiences while working there was anchoring the 2000 Presidential Election, live. What an extraordinary event!
I came back to FOX 2 in 2002 as the morning airborne traffic reporter. I soon moved back inside the studio and, to tell you the truth, although the chopper can be an exciting place to be, I actually prefer having my feet firmly planted on the ground.
Detroit is such a great place! I live here with my husband (my high school sweetheart) and two children.
I love my job at FOX 2 and am happy to be the one helping you get around this amazing city. Have a great day, and don't forget to buckle up!
