Rob Olson came to FOX 9 in August of 1999. Just over a year later, Rob won an Emmy for reporting, which meant he had to buy a tuxedo.
Rob's reporting has also been honored with awards from the Associated Press and Northwest Broadcast News Association.
One of the highlights of Rob's life happened back at St. Olaf College, when he took part in the school's Global Semester. Thirty students traveled through nine countries in five months. He saw the Pope at the Vatican, climbed an Egyptian pyramid in the middle of the night in Cairo, saw the sunrise over Mt. Everest in the Himalayas, spent Halloween in India, Thanksgiving in Bangkok, Christmas in Taiwan and New Year's Eve at a Buddhist temple in Japan. A week in Hawaii at the end of January was nice, too.
Rob lives in Eagan with his wife Tracy and their two sons -- Julian and Finn.
