A Fort Worth man murdered a 39-year-old mother of three children last week, police said.
According to investigators, 34-year-old Frank Byrd fatally shot Hilary Eaton on Jan. 4 inside her home in the 1300 block of Kings Highway.
They said Byrd had argued with Eaton before shooting her once in the head with a small caliber handgun and fleeing the scene.
A concerned friend found Eaton's body and called police, who arrested Byrd five days later on Jan. 9.
Byrd is charged with murder and remains in the Mansfield Jail on a $500,000 bond.
Officials did not release details about the argument or the relationship between victim and suspect.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Eaton had previously spent time at the Union Gospel Mission homeless shelter.
It reported that Eaton had stayed there twice in recent years before working her way into housing and starting a business.
