Baby Avery | Source: http://averycan.blogspot.comHOUSTON (myFOXHouston.com) -- Avery Canahuati, a 5-month-old baby known for her "bucket list" blog, has passed away, according to her parents.
The Canahuati's, a Houston-area family, announced on their blog Tuesday that Avery died Monday afternoon after one of her lungs collapsed.
"I immediately performed CPR on her and was able to bring her back to life, but only for a brief period of time before she passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital," writes Avery's father. "Avery's passing this quickly came as a complete shock to all of us, as she had just been given a thumbs up at her last doctors appointment only three days ago."
Baby Avery was diagnosed with an incurable genetic disease known as SMA, which limits infant's lives to no more than 18 months.
Avery's parents started a blog celebrating the little girl's life so she could cross things off her "bucket list" as well as inform people about SMA. Avery made national news and gained thousands of followers.
Most recently, she got to throw out the first pitch at a Sugar Land Skeeters baseball game.
