A Dallas mom is in jail after allegedly leaving her 2-year-old in a hot car while she was having margaritas.

Police said Jessica Christian went to Tejano Restaurant in Oak Cliff Thursday about noon and left her young son in the car with just a window cracked.

Someone saw the boy and called police. Officers said it was 83 degrees at the time and the boy was sweating and needed help.

One of the officers reached into the window and opened the door.  Firefighters treated the boy and gave him water.  That's when Christian came out of the restaurant.

According to the police report, she said she just ran in to pick up an order. But the bartender produced a receipt that showed she had four margaritas.

Christian was arrested and charged with child abandonment.

The boy was released to his grandmother.
