A Belleville family is thankful for however many days they have left together. Stage four breast cancer is threatening to cut short their time.
Chuck Koontz said, " We believe in prayer that prayer can change things. Hopefully Elena will be healed and here for a long, long time."
His wife Elena is a wonder woman of sorts. She continues to keep her household running while her time may be running out. Her cancer has now spread through her bones and liver. Doctors gave the mother of seven just six months to live.

"There's a lot I want to teach them. I don't know if I can get it all in. I'm busy teaching them to sew and to make bread," said Elena with two of her daughters in her arms.
While Elena is busy giving her kids the basics, 7-year old Savannah was busy writing her feelings down.
Savannah said, "I think I wouldn't want another mother after her."
The letter that talks about her mommy being sick is now featured at www.savemymommy.com.
The family hopes the website will save her life.
Elena said, " I don't tell her everything because she's sensitive. After reading it I just thought Lord you really need to let me live. My girls need me."
A spaghetti dinner at the Metro Baptist Church in Belleville this weekend will also help raise money for Elena's therapy. She's hoping to go to an alternative cancer treatment center in Texas and hoping it will work.
Chuck said, " You really think about things you never thought of before. What are my girl's gonna do should something happen to Elena. Whether you agree or not little girls need their mom more than their daddy. That's my prayer."
The benefit for Elena Koontz is set for Saturday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Metro Baptist Church. It's located at 47100 I-94 North Service Drive in Belleville. It's $6 to get in.
