Video shows child locked in running washing machine

MYFOXNY.COM -

A video posted on YouTube shows a terrifying incident in Camden, N.J., when a man put a toddler into a washing machine.

The video is from the laundromat's surveillance video camera and has a time stamp from May 11, 2012.

The woman watches the man put the child into the machine, close the door and stand back for a second.

The machine begins to spin but the man and the woman -- reportedly the child's parents -- could not unlock the machine's door.

In the video, the pair is seen frantically trying to pry open the door. At one point the woman runs for help and an employee runs over and opens a door behind the washer and manages to unplug it.

The men try to open the door at first but it remains locked. A few moments later the door unlocks and the man who put the child into the washer is seen running off with the child in his arms.

Camden Police are trying to identify the people seen in the video.
