Fort Worth baby's death ruled homicide

Posted: Updated:

A 2-week-old child died on Friday, and now the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office has ruled the boy's death a homicide.

Police tell FOX 4 they were called to an apartment complex on Fort Worth's east side about 12:30 a.m., after Giovanni Hernandez's father called 911 to say his little boy wasn't breathing.

Paramedics rushed the baby to Cook Children's Medical Center, but Giovanni died at 10 p.m. that night. The medical examiner says the cause of death was blunt force trauma of the head.

No one has been arrested in his death, but police are continuing their investigation.
