Texting at the ballpark became slightly painful for one fan at a San Diego Padres baseball game last week.
Travis Decker was telling everyone how much fun he was having at the July 6 contest via his smartphone when a foul ball made its way to the upper deck and drilled Decker in the chest. To add insult to injury, the entire thing was caught on camera and posted to MLB.com. (Click here to watch.)
Decker took the shot in stride, icing his chest with his cold beverage and joking with a reporter about the incident afterward.
"It's going to be sore later once the welt comes up but I'm going to make it through the night, I promise," Decker told the reporter.
In fairness to Decker, his brother-in-law – who was standing right next to him, didn't make any attempt to catch the ball.
