DALLAS -
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was arrested recently in DeSoto.
On Saturday evening police responded to a family violence call in the 800 block of East Pleasant Run. Bryant was charged with a Class A misdemeanor for assaulting a female family member.
Police would not elaborate on the details of the case or Bryant's relationship to the alleged victim. However, they did say she did not require any hospitalization for her injuries.
The 23-year-old turned himself in on Monday and immediately posted his $1,500 bond.
According to state law, the charge against him is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
A spokesman for the Cowboys said the team would wait to gather information before commenting.
Bryant has had his share of problems off the field.
