Police say a man who was riding an all-terrain vehicle when he crashed into a pole and died in Queens Saturday night.
Officers were called to 119-50 Merrick Boulevard around 8:00 p.m. in the Jamaica section and found the 33-year-old Dave Thomas seriously injured.
EMS was called to the scene and took Thomas to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A police investigation determined that Thomas was driving an ATV on the sidewalk going southbound on Merrick Blvd from 119th Avenue, when he struck a metal pole.
