Doritos Dog (makes 10 dogs)
1 quart oil for deep frying
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups processed Doritos chips (blend in food processor for 2 minutes until sand consistency)
1/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 t baking powder
1 t salt
1 large egg beaten
1 1/4 cups or more of BUTTERMILK. Use as much as needed to get thick coating consistency of batter
1/2 t baking soda
A thin prepackaged and precooked hotdog
wooden sticks
Directions:
Heat Oil to 350-365 degrees
In large bowl, stir together the flour, Doritos pieces, sugar, baking powder and salt. Make a well in center and pour in egg, buttermilk and baking soda. Mix and add buttermilk as necessary to get a think coating for dog.
Insert sticks in dogs and Pat dogs dry with paper towels then dunk and fully coat them in batter.
Deep fry for about two minutes to a golden brown.
