Fed up with thieves, woman decides to leave Detroit

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

A Detroit woman who has lived on the city's east side her entire life says enough is enough.

Cynthia Morrison, 55, says her home has been broken into so many times that thieves ran out of stuff to take on the inside. So instead, they started stealing what was left on the outside. On Friday, she say thieves took both the front and back doors off the home where Morrison grew up.

She says the home has been broken into at least 12 times over the past two years.

A neighbor witnessed the latest burglary and called 911, but police didn't respond. Detroit police say the call came in as a crime not in progress. In that case, they don't send out a unit.

Morrison moved out over the weekend.
