Apartment fire leaves several homeless

GARLAND, Texas -

About a dozen Garland families need another place to stay after an apartment complex caught fire late Thursday night.

Firefighters responded to the Lake Bluff apartments at 1365 E Interstate 30 about 11 p.m. They found one unit fully involved, and the fire spread to the attic and chimney of an adjacent building.

Fortunately, all residents were able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
