Clarice Tinsley's Hometown Hero this week is a man doing his part in making life-saving deliveries.
Every two seconds in the United States someone needs blood. That's where David Kasten comes in. He's one of 42 transport drivers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the American Red Cross.
Since March 2010, Kasten's donated 1,100 volunteer hours driving blood, plasma and platelets to 55 hospitals in North Texas.
He is a retired civil engineer. He said he feels good knowing his volunteer service is helping save lives. And, he wanted to make sure his volunteer work would be meaningful.
